During the last weekend of March, we got a ton of rain along with the surrounding areas so the Brazos River Flooded. This picture is from our friends Heather and Terry's steps going down into their yard. This picture is from those same steps after the water had come up almost 5 feet.

Next the shed is a wheel barrow that is completely underwater.
Nobody's houses flooded, but at least one boat sank and several others either floated out of their slips or were squashed up under the roof.
The people who own this dock, didn't bother to come down and get their boat off the water. Their neighbors were kind enough to get the boat out of the lift and tie it off down river so the dock would protect it from the debris.
Here is the $80,000 dollar boat saved by the neighbors. Note all the debris floating around.
This outlet is almost chest high when you are standing next to it. The huge tree floating in the river is most likely covered in fire ants. As you would expect, all the critters were heading to high ground including, snakes, turtles, spiders (HUGE ONES), mice. Terry was kayaking in his yard and saw a mouse swimming to high ground.

This is what Jackson thought of the flood. In his three months of life, he has now seen two "Artic Blasts" and one flood. We had our first real Thunderstorm with hail and lightening yesterday, so all he needs now is a real hot summer and he will have been through it all.Need this space
