Happy 4th of July
Had a great 4th! Just alot of play time on the water with good friends. Jackson has finally nailed the wakeboard and will go forever and ever.
The last part of this video is Jared doing a trick called the Ball and Chain. The song is Jackson's latest favorite tune.

The following pictures are of Jared - who is an amazing Sky Skier. He won nationals last year. The things he pulls off on that ski defy gravity.
Jared Crume
One of the more exciting portions of the weekend was when Jared cut the snout off an alligator gar. When you hit something on the Sky Ski, you come to a very abrupt halt and pretty much slam your face into the water going about 26 miles per hour. He was not hurt thank goodness, but did have a nice trophy to show for the tremendous wipeout.

Friday night at Johnny Robs, they had a pretty impressive fireworks show. We were across the river watching as some of those parties are not too kid friendly. Around 11:00 we went for a river cruise passing the party, all is well. When we came back, there is smoke every where, I thought they had caught the whole lot on fire. While they were shooting off the fireworks, they had the unspent mortars in coolers. Someone forgot to close the lid on one of them, resulting in a terrific explosion. Nobody was hurt and I don't know who took the following picture, but it captured the exact moment of the Kaboom!
More beer please!

One of the funnier moments this weekend (no pictures - sorry), I was washing the dogs in the backyard, carefully choosing a spot that looked like it needed water. I put in new sod this spring and am trying to keep it alive. I am rinsing Stella when I step back and sink to my ankle in mud. I start stomping around and I have a giant sink hole. All of a sudden, a mole pops up out of the ground right by my foot. I start screaming like a girl for Tony who is in the outdoor shower. The little bugger is trying to get back under ground (which is not going to happen, he's killing my grass), so I whack him with the water hose, still screaming like a girl. I eventually whack him over to some concrete steps as Tony has taken his time to get out of the shower and come to my rescue. He finally shows up clad in a towel and retrieves a shovel. He whacks the mole with the shovel against the concrete steps which make the mole fly up into the air. I look up a the last minute and duck or the now mutilated mole would have landed in my hair. I'm not happy, Tony is laughing, the dogs are going nuts and Jackson is just standing there like we have all lost our minds. Then Tony instructs my 6 year old child - "when Mom screams like that, grab your BB gun and shoot at whatever is making your mom scream".
And now just some random shots from the summer
Me and George
This photo was taken when I was in college. I had just had 4 wisdom teeth removed and was recuperating on Nana's couch when my sweet baby girl, Taylor, crawled up to take a nap with me. This will forever be my favorite picture, swollen cheeks and all.
