This is YOUR life. Are you who you want to be?

Ok, my cousin Mendy had a rotten day this week and blogged her thoughts and disappointments on her blog. (http://www.tigersandlonghorns.blogspot.com/ if you would like to see where this is coming from) Her sister wrote an nice little blurb on her blog (http://www.charlesandstacy.blogspot.com) about living a Christian life, turning the other cheek and quoted a Switchfoot song: "This is YOUR life, Are you who you want to be?"

Every night when I place Jackson to bed, we say prayers. We pray for our family, we pray for Tony and my marriage, that we will always have what it takes to stay in love, and be friends and be kind to one another. This quote from Switchfoot really makes you take stock in who you are, how you behave and treat others.

We also pray that Jesus will live in our hearts so that we will live lives that he will be proud of and worthy of the sacrifice and suffering he went through for us.

This is one quote that will stick with me for a long time.

See, Mendy, your bad day, is making lots of folks take stock in what's going on around us. Are we being a positive contribution to everything we touch or suckin the life out of those around us?

I hope I am not a sucker!
