It's been a great summer. Not too hot and we have water in the River this year. What has been on the agenda?
1. Jackson spent a week in June with Nana & Papa. Jury is still out on who had more fun, Nana or Jackson. I asked Jackson what was his favorite part (my favorite question) and he said a Park Nana took him to with his cousin Mackenzie followed up with the phrase, "Papa didn't go because he doesn't like fun things". That made me laugh!
2. Stay-cation at the river for 5 glorious days over the 4th. The River has been unusually quiet this year, not many boaters so it has been wonderful for us locals. Water is getting a little warm though since we are not a lake. Could use some rain.
3. Shopping for School supplies: I thought would be a fun experience with Jackson, but he just made me crazy hopping all over the place. Note to self: do not take child next year.
4. In the midst of Vacation Bible School: Neighbor kids are going with us so that is fun, but it doesn't seem to be as good as Pandamania last year. They are still enjoying it, but not with the same enthusiasm as last year.
5. Heading to Austin this weekend for Parks Palooza 2012. Annual cousins reunion on the Parks side. I can't wait to see everyone. I say it every year, I wished we all saw each other more than once a year, but everyone is so busy, I am thrilled we have carved out this weekend so we can all catch up. It will be fun!
6. Going to Galveston for 4 days right before school starts. Will make at least one trip to the exact spot where we said our "I do's" and splash around in the surf. Can't wait.
So, that's it - busy but fun.
Here is a video of Jackson getting up on the wakeboard and him riding the Sky Ski with his dad. Weird that I have a 5 year old that can wakeboard and not ride a bike? Probably, but predictable in my household.
The funniest thing about the video with Jackson Wakeboarding is my yelling "hooray" at the end.
(I am having trouble with the J video, but will upload as soon as I figure it out)
