REMEMBERING...

This time of year brings back many sad memories for my family.  18 years ago, on November 1st, my Grandfather, Henry Schoppa, passed away.  He had been battling Alzheimer's for many, many years, so his being called Home was a blessing; and end to his suffering and the suffering for my Grandmother and the rest of the family.

Three days later on November 4th, my Grandmother Schoppa passed away.  She had been involved in a car accident the previous August that broke both of her legs.  As a result, she developed blood clots in her legs that eventually blocked her pulmonary arteries.  It was hard to accept then, and still hard to accept now.

I have written about my Grandparents many times.  They were truly exceptional people who I can only hope I leave such a wide and well loved mark on the people in my life.

On my way home yesterday, the song "Breathe" by Willie Nelson came on the radio.  It was perfect for my mood and the time of the year.http://youtu.be/pAHcX_jSbsc

Beautiful song!

Love you Granny & Grandpa - wished you could have known Jackson - you would have loved him.  Maybe you knew him before he came to me - maybe that's where he gets his nurturing nature.  He will take punishment that does not belong to him to keep other's out of trouble.  Your legacy lives on...
