SAVE THE BOOBIES!!!

Went for my dreaded annual visit to the ole' girlie doctor this morning. He is now offering a new test called Halo. Halo is a five minute, non-invasive test that can help determine your risk of breast cancer YEARS EARLIER than a mammogram. Simply put, it's the quickiest, easiest way to give your doctor a heads-up and you a head start.

The numbers speak for themselves:
Breast cancer is the leading cause of death in women ages 35 to 50.

250,000 US women living with breast cancer are under the age of 40.

70% of women diagnosed have no Identifiable risk factors

8 out of 9 diagnosed women HAVE NO FAMILY HISTORY of the disease (THAT FACT IS STAGGERING TO ME)

When found early enough, the five-year survival rate is nearly 100%

This non-invasive test can detect abnormalities at the cellular level years earlier than mammograms can find a lump. That's why doctors recommend that women, ages 25 to 55, be tested annually with the Halo system. Halo does not replace regular mammograms and breast exams.

What does it feel like? A super powerful breast pump that pinches a little bit. It takes 5 minutes. It will try to extract breast fluid over a 5 minute period. Half of women will not produce any fluid, which is a good thing, your risk is very low. If you do produce some fluid, it is not a concern, but your risks are slightly elevated. They send this fluid to a lab for analysis.

Wouldn't it be nice to discover your cancer or abnormal cells before it has a chance to form a lump? Now you can.

The cost? My doctor was $75.00.

I urge you to do your own research, talk to your doctor.

Wish me luck in the 3-day, it's in 2 weeks. Love to you all and SAVE THE BOOBIES!!!

  1. WOW! This is great info! I had heard of the test but haven't done any research on it. I go to "THE" Dr. in December and I am going to ask about it when I schedule my appointment. How long until you get your results?

Can't wait to see you on the 6th!

    Love ya,
    Mendy
